"Why do some people move up while others stay stuck across generations?"
My research explores the intersection of behavioural and development economics, focusing on social mobility, inequality, poverty, health outcomes, microinsurance, and the long-term impacts of public policy across emerging and developing economies, including India, Tanzania, Brazil, and Peru.
Before joining UWA India, I spent more than eight years with the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), and held research appointments at the University of Helsinki and Hanken School of Economics. My work combines innovative field-based approaches, administrative data, and advanced analytical methods to address complex development challenges and inform evidence-based policy.
